What is a commercial representation?
Commercial representation in Bulgaria can be opened by any person from a foreign country who has the right to carry on business under their national legislation.
The commercial representation of the foreign person is not a separate legal entity and cannot carry on business in the territory of Bulgaria. Its functions are only representative and are for the needs of the foreign person.
What functions do commercial representations have?
As already mentioned, sales offices are not allowed to carry on business. Their functions are extremely representative and are usually registered for the purpose of advertising and promoting the activity of a foreign person.
To this end, the agency has the right to enter into transactions, and they are treated as transactions between residents. Also, the representation may have a staff, in which case the law gives him the quality of an employer.
Commercial representation registration
Commercial representations of foreign persons in Bulgaria are registered with the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Once registered there, they are also subject to entry in the BULSTAT Register.
The fee charged by the Chamber for the initial registration of a commercial representation is the lev equivalent of EUR 120. The registration deadline is 24 hours and there is an express order for 12 hours and for 1 hour respectively for BGN 291 and BGN 320 respectively.
